Abstract:
The aim of the project is to design and implement a mobile app, to guide about congested
traffic situation on the roads, and to show the traffic report in a graphical form rather than
textual form, with Red light for Road Block, Orange light for Road Congestion, Green light
for Road Clear and also Blue & Yellow lights for Current/My Location and Destination,
respectively, with respect to user’s location via GPS. The application gives facility to its user
by providing the ability to search the current situation of traffic for desire location with map,
and to choose travel mode. The authorized wardens will update the app according to the
results of traffic situation. This app will be very beneficial for traffic organization and all the
road travelers related to any origination. This project is based on Kalman filtering/estimation technique also known as linear quadratic estimation and Global positioning system vehicle test technique. Existing system gives the details about the estimation related to current state and also about the future. It does not state about the traffic congestion routes. This system involves textual representation. This system does not satisfy the traffic congestion detection mechanism. There is no user feedback system
through which the users of the system could give suggestions and comments for improvement of the system.
In this way a well-designed graphical representation of the traffic congestion guide report
(that can be further updated, according to the needs and requirements of client) is viewed, by minimization of time and cost and maximization of efficiency, under some conditions of
internet availability and GPS enabling. This app really helps as traffic guide in android
mobiles.
