Public Voting Platform Bahria Clicker

Abstract

Bahria Clicker is a public Voting Platform. It is an interactive public voting system deployed at Bahria University Islamabad, Bahria clicker was addresses the need to increase students and faculty awareness, interest, and participation in events organized on campus, and allows them to propose their own opinions and ideas, broadcast these, and asks general campus population to cast a vote, on these and get their voice heard. These polls are displayed around campus on the LCD screens, which are installed at places where these are prominently and usually a large number of students and faculty are either present or pass by, such as the main campus foyer and the library entrance. The system has been built with cake-PHP, MySQL, and Adobe Phone gap for application. At the time of deployment, this project only supports direct input through android smart phones. The initial deployment phase has seen a good turnout of participation from both he students and staff on campus. However, this was still limited since the app only supports android interaction at the moment. The next release of the project will allow people to cast their vote with any smartphone through QR Codes.
