Abstract

Emergency Response System enhances the emergency reporting response time, assists the authorities like ITP (Islamabad Traffic Police) and Rescue 1122 in identifying emergencies in a better way with the utilization of modern and rapid current technologies. It is a system that bridges the gap of communication between the general public and authorities and enhances the emergency setup overall in the city. With the use of android based mobile devices the public will find it easier to report emergencies and seek emergency services in an instant; moreover, with the provision of a web portal for the authorities, it will be easier for them to locate and act in accordance to the emergency reported. So far the desired functionalities detailed in this thesis have been achieved in a form of a working prototype that exhibits the defined and desired behavior successfully. Most importantly, the real time updates between the user app and the web server are being successfully communicated, with the successful communication of information such as uploading a report from the app etc. has successfully been achieved.
