dc.description.abstract Undergraduate projects and Master’s thesis are the most important activities in any academic program. A lot of planning and management is involved in the timely and efficient conduct of these important milestones. In majority of the Pakistani universities these activities have been handled manually consuming a lot of effort. An ICT based tool to support these activities can improve the efficiency of the academic staff and reduce errors. In order to achieve this, it is reasonable to develop a common application that provides a basic structure, which would be useful for maintaining the important information related to academic projects and thesis. This project is based on the requirements for managing various academic projects (undergraduate final year projects and MS Thesis) collected from Bahria University faculty and Project Coordinators. At the moment there is no Information System available in Bahria University that can manage and keep record of related activities, deadlines/milestones and deliverables associated with these projects. Moreover, the communication and collaboration between the various stakeholders is difficult. Our Project presents a complete Web system that can be applied to support the educational planning and management demands of undergraduate and postgraduate final year projects and theses. Supervisors will be able to upload their project synopsis. They will also include description of the project. Allocation of projects can be based on Supervisors that to which group the project should be assigned. Students (their groups) will be given choices for more than one project. Out of these choices, a project will be allocated to them. Once a project is assigned, a respective workspace will be created for the syndicates where they can communicate and collaborate with other group members and the supervisor. en_US
