dc.description.abstract | In real life, almost all the projects have strict requirements of time and cost. This wireless health monitoring system was designed and implemented to achieve a lower power, lower cost and reliable monitoring system that would accurately measure the heart rate and temperature of the human body. In this project, we have designed and developed a wireless communication system for remote patient monitoring. This project is a zigbee based wireless health monitoring system that is used to measure the patient’s body temperature and heart rate. This is achieved by using a PIC microcontroller and interfacing it with a Heart rate sensor circuit comprising of a LDR (Light dependent Resistor) and a LED (Light Emitting Diode), and also a temperature sensor LM35 for the measurement of the body temperature. The microcontroller then transmits the data over the air by using Zigbee modules. At the receiving end, the receiver receives the data and another microcontroller which sends the values to the PC which is then displayed on the doctor’s Personal Computer or a Laptop with an easy to use graphical interface. The software receives the data and interprets it as heart rate and temperature and also alerts the doctor in case of an emergency. With the help of this health monitoring system, the doctor or medical staff can access the data from their office and examine it to ensure the health of the patient. This project has the potential to offer a wide range of benefits to the medical personnel, patients and society through continuous monitoring of the patients and providing early detection of critical conditions. This wireless health monitoring system is easy to use and provides accurate measurements. | en_US |
