| dc.description.abstract | Educational mobile applications are widely developed but they lack the interactivity hence providing rigid learning experience by providing total virtual environment. Augmented reality applications help to bridge the gap between virtual and real world thus providing a more natural and appealing learning experience especially for children. The main motivation behind this project is to develop an augmented reality based application for smart phones. The application provides children augmented reality environment with tasks to complete and interconnecting a story with the tasks. The application reads patterns and provides tasks related to it. The tasks include alphabets detection and simple numeric characters detection. There are User Interface objects to select the answers. The necessary augmented reality functionality is provided using the Vuforia platform. The main objective is to utilize augmented reality to enhance the learning experience and interest of the children in basic skills development. This application is intended to be the platform for the development of educational mobile applications with visually appealing Augmented Interface elements. | en_US |
