dc.description.abstract Chanda oil field is located in Shakardara area, Kohat District which lies in Upper Indus basin. The petrophysical analysis is carried out on Chanda-2 well to identify reservoir zone and to evaluate the reservoir characteristics and their correlation. On the basis of this analysis two zones are marked in Datta Formation at the depth interval of 4791m to 4799m and 4832m to 4842m. The calculated value for volume of shale for zone 1(4791-4799)m is 4.99%, average porosity is 8.45%, effective porosity is 7.84%, average water saturation is 31.32% and average hydrocarbon saturation is 68.68%. The calculated value for volume of shale for zone 2(4832-4842)m is 23.54%, average porosity is 7.38%, effective porosity is 5.65%, average water saturation is 28.1% and average hydrocarbon saturation is 71.9%.The calculations for petrophysical analysis explicate the reservoir interval of Datta Formation has very good hydrocarbon potential. en_US
