| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of the Bhangali well-01. Geographically Bhangali well-01 is located at 33⁰15′15″ N and 73⁰07′19.5″ E at a distance of about 55km to the southwest of Islamabad. Tectonically Bhangali well-01 lies at the South of MBT and north of SRT in Upper Indus basin.Mostly anticlines structures and reverse faults are present in the area of study and the rocks ranging from Paleocene to Miocene are present. Chorgali Formation (Eocene) is the proven reservoirs of Bhangali well-01.Toevaluate the potential of this reservoir, physical properties are calculated and analyzed using petrophysical analysis. One zone of interest at Chorgali Formation was marked at depth of 3689-3702m with effective porosity 13.50% due to presence of fractures. Although thickness of this zone is less but it shows the good hydrocarbon potential as the hydrocarbon saturation is 30.44%. | en_US |
