Abstract:
The purpose of the current research was to investigate the geotechnical behavior of material and its comparison with AASHTO (American Association of state highways and transport Official). Different tests were performed for soil; Sieve Analysis (Gradation), Liquid limit determination, Plastic limit determination, CBR (California Bearing Ratio), Sand equivalent and LA (Los Angeles Abrasion) tests were conducted for aggregate class.
According to the observations regarding Sieve analysis the collected sample is classified as A1-a type material. Plastic Index revealed that liquid limit is 15.8 % and Plastic limit is 11.2 % with Plasticity Index of 4.6%. CBR (California Bearing Ratio) test exhibited that OMC (Optimum Moisture Content) and MDD (Maximum Dry Density) were 5.5 % and 2.302 g/cc. The results for Sand Equivalent were 79 %. The LA (Los Angeles Abrasion) for Aggregate Base Coarse was 22 %. All the tests conducted are according to AASHTO (American Association Of state highways and transport Officials) standard.
