| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of the study is to evaluate the petrophysical properties of Sawan- 09,Lower Indus Basin,Pakistan. This is located in Khairpur District,Sindh..The well under study is situated at latitude 26º30'13.91'' N and longitude 69º00'44.40'' E.Lower Indus basin is located just south of Sukkar rift, which divides Central and Lower Indus basins. The platform results a very reasonable improvement of Cretaceous sand (Goru) which are reservoirs for oil and gas fields. Petrophysical evaluation of Sawan-09 was carried out to highlight the reservoir area which included the selection of zone of interest followed by log interpretation. The volume of shale, porosity, water saturation and hydrocarbon saturation were interpreted by using different tools like gamma ray tool, porosity tool, density tool, resistivity tool. On the basis of petrophysical evaluation Lower Goru Formation (B Sand) is acting as a reservoir, which has volume of shale, effect porosity and saturation of hydrocarbon is 13%, 16.36% and 81% respectively. | en_US |
