Abstract:
The Maino area is located in Middle Indus Basin and it lies to the north of Kadanwari gas field and south of Mari and Sui gas fields. Miano is a natural gas reservoir which covers the Thar Desert having a total area of 814 sq.Km. Tectonically it lies in extensional regime having normal faulting. The basic objective of the study is to get preliminary understanding of the subsurface structural trend and stratigraphy of the cited area. To achieve this objective we have used 2D seismic data including one strike line P2092-114; four dip lines P2092-113, P2092-115, P2092-117 and P2092-119 for stratigraphic interpretation and well logs of Miano-02 well for Petrophysical analysis. Four reflectors namely Habib Rahi, Ranikot, Sui main limestone and Lower Goru formations were marked on the seismic section on the basis of depth and velocity information of these formations. Time contour maps of the reflectors were produced using two way time of the reflectors. RMS velocities were used to find the depths of the formations for the seismic section. Petrophysical analysis of Miano-02 indicates that the Lower Goru Formation has three potential zones in it but could not make an economical reservoir because of thicknesses of few feet and low porosities, Ranikot Formation is mainly water wet formation.
