dc.description.abstract The main purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the structure and hydrocarbon potential by using the seismic and well log data of Pindori area, Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. Pindori area lies near Chakwal District of Punjab region in the Potwar subbasin region of Upper Indus Basin Pakistan. The Potwar sub-basin is situated at the northern margin of the Pakistan in the western foothills of Himalaya. It comprises of the Potwar plateau, the Jhelum plain and the Salt Range. Pindori structure is thought to be enriched by potential hydrocarbon. For structural enhancement, five migrated seismic lines i.e. SOX-S88-04, SOX-S88-06, SOX-S88-08, SOX-S88-10 (dip lines) and SOX-S88-34 (strike line) were used. Time and depth contour maps of four horizons, Chorgali Formation, Sakesar Formation, Lockhart Formation and Dhakpass Formation were generated which confirmed the Pop up anticline structures in the subsurface. For petro-physical analysis, Chorgali Formation was marked. And its volumetric analysis was also done which inferred that Chorgali Formation is the producing reservoir on the basis of effective porosity, Vsh and Sw. Sakesar Formation, Lockhart Formation and Dhakpass Formation were not evaluated due to lack of log data. Stratigraphic correlation technique was also done for piecing together the informational content of the separated wells which include Pindori-02, Adhi-05 and Rajian-01 from North-west to South-east direction respectively. en_US
