Abstract:
Structural analysis has been done using the 2D seismic data of Kabirwala area,
central Indus Basin Pakistan. Bahria University and Directorate General of Petroleum
Concession (DGPC) provided 2D seismic reflection data for conducting this research.
The Kabirwala area lies in the Sindh monocline of the Punjab Platform, Central Indus
Basin which is bounded by Sulaiman Depression on the east, Sargodha high on north
and Sukkur rift in the south. The Punjab Platform dips westwards towards into the
Sulaiman Fore-deep. The structure of the study area is a monocline gently dipping
towards South East. For structural enhancement, five seismic migrated lines i.e. 875-
KBR-219, 875-KBR-224, 875-KBR-225, 875-KBR-226 and 875-KBR-227 were used.
Time and Depth contour maps of the three horizons Ranikot, Lumshiwal and
Chichaliformationwere generated which confirms the structure of the area to be
monocline.
