| dc.description.abstract | Ziarat Block is located in the western part of the foreland fold and thrust belt of the Sulaiman range. The area is considered prospective after the Zarghun South discovery just west of the Ziarat block in August 1998. Typical thrusted anticlinal features are present which usually have four way closure. Major anticlines Khalifat, Markhezai and Shahrig fall in the north of the Ziarat block. Most of the anticlines are capped by the exposure of Chiltan and Dungan Limestone, generally asymmetric, doubly plunging, steeply dipping with forelimbs cut by high angle thrust faults. Complete structural detachment has been observed within the incompetent Ghazij shale. The reservoir rocks are distributed in Jurassic, Cretaceous and Paleocene section. The Zarghun south gas discovery to the west of the Ziarat Block confirms the generation, migration and entrapment of hydrocarbon in the area. In this project, seismic data interpretation was carried out using the available seismic lines over the Ziarat structure. Manual interpretation followed by two way time mapping and Depth Structure mapping were achieved to study the structure and to derive a way forward in the enhancement of production from the current structure. | en_US |
