Abstract:
The research study carried out in the area ‘Sinjhoro’ lies in Sindh monocline which is located in the Southern Indus basin, Pakistan at the Indo-Pakistan plate that comprises of monocline structure. The Study area is bounded in the east by Indian Shield which merges into Kirthar and Karachi Trough and by Mari Bughti inner folded zone in the north.
The scope of research work revolves around the seismic interpretation and petrophysical analysis through seismic studies by utilizing seismic data and well data. The Seismic data incorporated comprised of four dip lines 2001-SNJ-22, 2001-SNJ-23, 896-SGR-388, 896-SGR-386 and one strike line 2001-SNJ-06. Well tops data of Resham-01 is used for petrophysical analysis at reservoir level.
The seismic data is utilized for marking of different Lithological horizons and naming them using the well tops data in the area. Seismic depth and time mapping is used to develop structural contour maps using licensed software. Three prominent reflectors named Lower Goru Formation, Basal Sand and Massive Sand are marked at the seismic section. Monoclines are identified on the contours. The interpreted sections show that the deformation in the area is caused by extensional tectonics.
Two way time and depth contour maps of the lithologies Lower Goru, Basal Sand and Massive Sand have been prepared to determine the spatial variation of time. Petrophysical evaluation has been carried out in which the average percentage of saturation of hydrocarbon for Basal Sand is 84% whereas that of Massive Sand is 88%. On the basis of these results, Basal Sand and Massive Sand of Lower Goru Formation have high saturation of hydrocarbon.
