dc.description.abstract The main purpose of the study is to delineate subsurface structure for hydrocarbon potential evaluation of the Shakardara area, in a part of Upper Indus basin. This was done by 2-D seismic data analysis, provided by LMKR, with the permission of DGPC. The data set comprises of 5 seismic lines and a well tops of Mela-01. The methodology adopted to accomplish this task includes demarcation of the different lithological horizons followed by naming them according to the depths after correlation with the well data. The demarcation of different faults on horizons developed the subsurface structural geometry which helped in understanding the regional tectonics, contour maps were generated for better understanding and correlation of the structure. The same seismic data was also used to analyze the rock physical properties. Two reflectors marked are Lockhart Formation and Samana Suk Formation. en_US
