| dc.description.abstract | In this research seismic and well log data has been used as an input to interpret and evaluate the structure and hydrocarbon potential of theMakran offshore. Tectonically this basin is a typical Atlantic type of Passive Margin showing no complex structure such as anticlines and synclines, though representing a compressional regime. Reverse faults forming triangular zones were also observed. The stratigraphy ranges from mid-Miocene to Early Pleistocene. One of the main purposes of this desertion was to delineate different type of noises in the unmigrated lines SM/73-1(strike), SM/73-38, SM/73-40, SM/73-3, SM/73-34. Time and depth contour maps of all the five formations indicated the general trend of the reverse faults which were dipping in south and north directions. Petrophysical analysis showed that saturation of water is greater than the saturation of hydrocarbons, therefore resulting in the abandonment of the well. Due to the deformational history and thick sedimentary fill the Pasni X-02 could only be drilled up to the Parkini formation, therefore requiring more research. | en_US |
