Abstract:
The main motive of the dissertation is to evaluate the structure and to find the
total organic content of the Chichali Formation using seismic and wire-line log data of
Kabirwala area, Central Indus Basin, Pakistan. The Kabirwala area lies in the Sindh
monocline of the Punjab Platform, Middle Indus Basin which is bounded by Sulaiman
Depression on the east, Sargodha high on north and Sukkur rift in the south. The
Punjab Platform dips westwards towards into the Sulaiman Foredeep. The structure of
the study area is a monocline gently dipping towards South East. For structural
enhancement, five seismic migrated lines i.e. 875-KBR-220, 875-KBR-221, 875-
KBR-229, 875-KBR-230, 875-KBR-231 were used. Time and Depth contour maps of
the three horizons, Ranikot Formation, Lumshival Formation and Chichali Formation
were generated which confirms the structure of the area.
