| dc.description.abstract | The main motive of the dissertation is to evaluate the structure and to find the formation properties using petrophysical analysis of the Lumshiwal and Ranikot formations by the use of seismic and wire-line log data of Kabirwala area, Central Indus Basin, Pakistan. The Kabirwala area lies in the Sindh monocline of the Punjab Platform, Middle Indus Basin which is bounded by Sulaiman Depression on the east, Sargodha high on north and Sukkur rift in the south. The Punjab Platform dips westwards towards into the Sulaiman Foredeep. The structure of the study area is a monocline gently dipping towards South East. For structural enhancement, five seismic migrated lines i.e. GO845-KBR-43, S867-KBR-142, S875-KBR-207, S875-KBR-258, S864-KBR-125 were used. Time and Depth contour maps of the three horizons, Ranikot Formation, Lumshival Formation and Chichali Formation were generated which confirms the structure of the area. For the petrophysical analysis, Reservoir rock analysis of the Ranikot, Lumshiwal Formation is carried out. Well logging confirms the presence of a complete petroleum system but the formations do not have enough potential that could be taken as discovery in oil and gas and also do not fits in companies economics. | en_US |
