Abstract:
The aim of this study was to Interpret hydrocarbon potential and to trace the development of porosity in the deep reservoirs of Bahawalpur East-01 and Sarai Sidhu-01 by evaluating the well logs, for that the well logs of Bahawalpur East 01and Sarai Sidhu 01 in the Central Indus Basin, is provided by the DGPC. Tectonically middle or Central Indus Basin is relatively stable. The basin is comprised of duplex structures characterized by large anticlines and domes in passive roof of sequence of the Sulaiman fold belt, followed eastward by gently dipping strata of the Punjab monocline Recent discovery of oil on commercial scale in the Northern Rajistan Basin of India has prompted the evaluation of Punjab Platform. Punjab platform marks the eastern segment of Central Indus Basin and shows that there is no surface outcrop of sedimentary rocks Tectonically, Punjab plateform is broad monocline which is dipping gently toward the Sulaiman depression. Hydrocarbon prospect evaluation was carried out by petrophysical analysis of the reservoir rocks. The logs utilized for the study includes Gamma ray log, Sonic log, Density log, Neutron log and Resistivity log. The studies furnished different reservoir parameters that include volume of shale, total porosity, effective porosity, permeability, water saturation, hydrocarbon saturation and bulk volume of water. This study concluded that the reservoirs zones, Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 of Bahawalpur East 01 well were water wet with that Water Saturation values 93.62%, 81.84% and 100% respectively. Similarly the reservoirs zones, Zone 1and Zone 2 of Sarai Sidhu 01 well were Water Saturated with values of 84.33 and 88.30% respectively.
