IMPACT OF STORING RAW MATERIAL ON SAFETY IN TEXTILE AND GARMENT INDUSTRY

Abstract

PurDOse. As the concept of the supply chain running and with the importance of continued farm out concept so now the concentration and single-mindedness is on the supply chain management that s why as the fast growing trend and having so much significance the textile and garment sector industries are showing so much deep apprehension and concern about the ethical matters and its related issues that tends to be source and basis of the probable in damaging their appearance and image like same concept of negative or bad word of mouth for the brand name. There are plenty of issues that arises especially in South Asia region particularly Pakistan and Bangladesh which ultimately results in heavy losses in terms of all prospects such as the loss of human management capital and similarly the financial loss in all terms such as of the infrastructure, building and other financial losses both to the employer as well as employees and all these problem arises due to the certain reasons and probably if not wrong it is due to the total negligence and carelessness of the ethical concerns, health and safety principles and criterion which ultimately results in such ruins, tragedies and sometimes big disasters as well may rise. That’s why due to its great significance and importance in current period this study is aimed to recognize and pinpoint the issues that are pertaining to health and safety concerns and which are the reason and causes that leads to the potential fire hazard, obstructed passages and blocked exits which outcomes and consequences are the damage and losses in terms of severe impact on its suppliers for having a sustainable competitive business with the foreign retailers all around the globe. The author has chosen it because of several certain reasons that the textile and garment sector is the lifeblood of many urban and rural areas and as it is the only major source of earning, bread and butter and employment cause of population and may be poverty eliminator as well but the condition of the factories is miserable and require serious concerns. Methodology: - This whole data was collected and gathered from the different past researches basis of the literature review, the ongoing industry and manufacturing practices, the code of conduct and social compliance audit reports of different textile and garment industries and that is done either conducted unswerving through the buyers or the third party of the textile and garment industries in Pakistan were considered, examined and evaluated in depth. Findings: - The author has found the solid impact of storing of raw material and finished goods with the different factors which are potential fire hazards, obstructed passages and blocked exits. Practical imnlic.ations: - Similarly this study will be helpful in the textile and garment industry so that they can be susceptible to the risk and danger that,may be associated with their factories and which will be beneficial and helpful avoiding such incidents and will give exposure to the industries to tackle with such type of un favorable situations and similarly to minimize the such existence of cases and instances in future.
