RECOGNIZING THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES NEED FOR SELECTION OF 3PL SERVICES PROVIDERS IN KARACHI

Abstract

Purpose: In the past few years the concept of supply chain management has been evolved in the Pakistan as well as in the global world. Now, the companies are become more global than in the past especially LSPs play great role to generate more profits in the markets. The puipose of this research basically to recognizing the pharmaceutical industry needs for the selection and evaluation of 3PL services providers. There are some factors defined in this research which help the pharmaceutical companies when they go for outsourced their activities to remain focus on their core-values and leaving their non-core activities. 3PL are specialist in cost-reduction, technologies and also provide wide varieties of services such as inventory management, transportation, IT, vendor management, warehousing, packaging etc. Objectives: The main objectives of this research is to identify that what will be the best factors to help the pharmaceutical industry in Karachi when go for selecting the 3PL service providers? Research Methodology: The data collection can be gathered from different pharmaceutical companies from their supply chain employees in Karachi who are actually taking services from 3PL service providers. In order to analysis of the data a review has been done through literature review. Primary data was taken from participants however, in the questionnaire data; closed ended question and likert scale were used. After the data collection analysis was taken from SPSS software. The research is quantitative in nature. Main Finding: The main finding from this overall research was to identifying or recognizing the different factors which help the pharmaceutical sector when they buying services and outsource service from 3PL service provider. However, it was found that no factor help the pharmaceutical companies for selection of 3PL service provider. Conclusion & Recommendation: There are some recommendation, research limitation and conclusion defined in details.
