| dc.description.abstract | The world deals with a paradoxical situation which combines food security and food wastage as two major global challenges.A strange paradox, acute hunger plagues countries at a time when restaurants along with households and events do not waste food. Major social gatherings are responsible for the continuous discard of substantial food quantities. Food wastage is a growing the condition of food insecurity in Pakistan keeps rising even though there exists no organized system for handling donated food. There exists no unified organizational approach to manage donated food resources. So, this app presents a local food donation management system with the aim to electronically connect all food donors, NGOs and receivers into a single platform. The system has modules for different roles including donor sign up, approval of food requests, feedback from receivers, and management admin functions. Everyone in the system can be connected to one another to optimize communication using cloud technologies to ensure data control and updates, as well as synchronize management of information for instantaneous updates, information centralization, and expanded communication. The aim of the project is not only to manage food surplus but avoid waste by redistributing foods to those who need them while contributing to social change | en_US |
