dc.description.abstract The objective of this project is to develop a mobile based check out system for retail businesses. Covid-19 opened our eyes to a range of problems not faced by businesses around the globe earlier. One of the challenges faced by retail businesses during the pandemic was the issue of implementation of social distancing protocols while maintaining day to day operations efficiently. The project aims to provide innovative solution by eliminating the traditional Point of Sale (POS) terminals, allowing customers to seamlessly scan items using a mobile app, reducing waiting times, operational costs and interaction between humans as well. scan The system will consist of a mobile application where users will be able to sign-up, product barcode. Scanning the product will add the product to cart and total will be updated upon every entry. When the shopping is completed the user will proceed to checkout page where he/she will enter the credit card details. Upon entering the details user will be shown the receipt which will be emailed to user on the email provided. This will help both the customer and store since store will be able to handle and there will be no need for cashiers which will be cost effective to more customers for store and process their orders. The project will also consist of a database from where all the product and user information will be stored, fetched, edited as per the user or admin requirements.
