Abstract:
The advancement of smartphones, global positioning system, and information
technologies have a great influence on our travelling preferences and behavior,
dynamically shaping the transportation industry. Moreover ride-hailing, as a popular
shared-transportation method, has been operated in many areas all over the world.
DRIVO: Your Ultimate Ride Companion is a modern ride-hailing and carpooling
platform designed to address the challenges of urban transportation providing solutions
to the problems. The platform allows users to book rides quickly, plan their trips and
even opt for gender-based carpooling, making travel safer and more inclusive for
everyone. By offering real-time carpooling options, it empowers both drivers and
passengers enhancing cost-effective travel practices. With a focus on safety and
comfort, DRIVO’s gender-based carpooling stands out as a key feature, allowing users
to choose travel companions based on their preferences. Additionally the feedback
feature will help to improve driver ratings and enhance the overall quality of service,
ensuring every ride is better than the last. The application allows users to enter their
origin and destination, estimated costs, and car types making it accessible to everyone.
Our application uses TypeScript for frontend and JavaScript for backend, also we have
used Node.js along with the Expresses framework to handle server-side operations and
APIs integration. Additionally, Expo is used for integration with React Native.
Through these carefully designed features, the platform seeks to provide transportation
solutions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and reliability
