Abstract:
Miano gas field located in Central Indus Basin, Pakistan, was selected to
evaluate Tight Gas potential and to estimate Gas in place using static model with the
aid of geophysical dataset comprising of PSTM 2D Seismic lines (01 strike line and
05 Dip lines) and Wireline logs of 03 wells (Miano-02, Miano-07 and Miano-09). B
sand Interval deposited as tidal channel sands in a shoreface/ Barrier island complex
setting is acting as reservoir in this field. The methodology adopted for this study
comprised of Seismic Interpretation, Petrophysical analysis and Modeling. Time and
Depth contour maps for C-sand, B-sand and A-sand interval were prepared during
Seismic interpretation which were then used as inputs to define the external
architecture of the model. Petrophysical analysis was performed to determine
reservoir properties (Phie, Water saturation, Permeability & Net/Gross) of B-sand
and were subsequently incorporated in 3D model during property modeling phase.
3D static modeling comprised of three main steps namely Structural Framework
Modeling, Corner Point Gridding and Property Modeling. Based on the interpretation
of available dataset the study concluded that the B-sand is acting as a conventional
reservoir throughout the study area.
