dc.description.abstract | The Badin Concession in southern Indus basin of Pakistan has been a major producer of hydrocarbons for more than 20 years, with 500 million barrels of oil equivalents (mmboe) of oil and gas found to date. In this research project, special emphasis was given on prospect generation in the southern most part of Badin IV South Block. A sparse grid of vintage 2D seismic data was selected and then interpreted on Lower Goru sands, as well as Chiltan limestone levels. Several leads were identified on the seismic sections by using a work station (kingdom). These leads were subjected to detailed geological and geophysical analysis in which some leads were eliminated while others were upgraded into prospects. The prospects were then evaluated using geological, geophysical, petrophysical and economical methods.In this research an integrated approachwas carried out to delineate the possible leads in the study area by using geophysical, geological and economical interpretational procedures. There have been four leads wereidentified in the study area as a result of interpretation.The outcome of this research study provides the basis of data integration to delineate a prospective structure. This research study provides the basic details of prospect generation and evaluation. | en_US |
