dc.description.abstract The study area is located in Kadanwari, Khairpur district of the province Sindh, Pakistan. It occupies Sargodha depression in Lower Indus Basin. The lower Indus basin is a prolific basin located in the south-eastern part of Pakistan. Sargodha depression is a structural low with Mari Kandhkot High in the North-East, Khairpur-Jacobabad High in West and Thar slope and Delhi Aravalli in South and East respectively. The lower Indus basin is dominated by the structural traps. In the present work, an attempt has been made to correlate the results obtained by well logs to obtain a stratigraphic model of the study area. For this purpose Well logs of Kadanwari-03 were acquired from Landmark Resources (LMKR) with the prior approval from the Directorate General of Petroleum Concession (DGPC) on the formal inquiry by Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences Bahria University Islamabad. The objective was to have an insight about the petrophysical characteristics of the area. Petrophysical evaluation of Kadanwari-03 was carried out to highlight the reservoir area which included the selection of interval of interest followed by Log interpretation. The volume of shale, porosity and density, hydrocarbon saturation and water saturation were calculated with the help of these logs. On the basis of petrophysical evaluation it was noted that Lower Goru Formation is acting as a reservoir and the interbedded shale of Upper Goru formation are acting as seal rock. en_US
