| dc.description.abstract | The study explores the potential of Public- Private Partnerships (PPP) in Islamabad healthcare delivery and barriers using the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The study is a quantitative-qualitative investigation focused on the issues of PPP adoption and service quantity impact and governance barriers influencing the implementation of the project. The study indicates that PPPs have increased health care institutions and improved performance and technology uptake, but with limited success due to poor governance structures. The three agencies MoNHSRC CDA and IHRA and their disjointed design and lack of monitoring mechanisms and ambiguous contract work arrangements pose a significant challenge to the successful PPPs. The insurance schemes of low-income citizens and marginalized communities do not take into consideration the equity concerns due to the lack of regulatory measures and ineffective monitoring. The study confirms that PPPs are viable instruments to help Islamabad health care to improve, albeit it will only be effective to the extent that more efficient governance structures and clear accountability structures and enhanced inter-agency cooperation are in force. The attainment of sustainable PPP results and social responsibility needs necessitate organizations to build superior regulatory structures and improve the processes of contract development and fairness protection mechanism | en_US |
