Abstract

This research provides a comprehensive introduction to “Askari-aat” explaining its historical background and ethical overview in different eras before and after Islam. The research describes the literal and terminological definitions of “Askari-aat” as well as its necessity and importance in the light of Quran and Ahadith. The Study divides the military strategies of Hazrat Umar R.A into institutional military organization and war tactics. The study discusses organizational and systematic structure of “Askari-aat” and covers administrative matters including the leadership-related affairs and also the rights of soldiers. The study also summarize the details of the border defense system during the era of Hazrat Umar R.A. This research sheds light on the war tactics used in the Caliphate of Hazrat Umar R.A and categorises these tactics into three types: pre-war, during-war and post-war, discussing the measures taken before war starts and the quick techniques used during war and the steps taken after the war ended.
