IMPACT OF CONSTRUCTION COST AND STAKEHOLDERS’ AWARENESS ON GREEN BUILDING PROJECT SUCCESS: MODERATING ROLE OF GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Abstract

This study investigates how construction costs and stakeholders' awareness influence the success of green building projects, with government support acting as a moderating factor. Drawing data from 247 construction companies out of a population of 690 in Punjab, Pakistan, the research employs Smart PLS statistical software to analyze the structural modeling equation. Notably, the findings reveal a positive correlation between stakeholders' awareness and both their willingness to participate and the overall success of the projects. This suggests that when stakeholders are well-informed about the principles and advantages of green building practices, they are more likely to actively engage in project activities, leading to enhanced project outcomes. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance of government support in augmenting these effects. By providing a supportive regulatory and policy framework, government backing can amplify the impact of stakeholders' awareness initiatives, thereby further promoting the success of green building projects. Overall, these findings contribute valuable insights to the field of sustainable construction, highlighting the crucial role of stakeholder awareness and governmental support in driving positive project outcomes. They underscore the importance of fostering collaboration among stakeholders and policymakers to advance sustainability efforts within the construction sector, ultimately leading to more environmentally friendly and socially responsible building practices.
