The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of organizational structure on project success through mediating effects of potential absorptive capacity & realized absorptive capacity and knowledge sharing as a moderating effect on the relationship between organizational structure and project success in public healthcare sector Punjab, Pakistan. This study is cross-sectional in nature. The data was collected from 400 respondents through questionnaire survey that are administered in different positions in various projects of public healthcare sector Punjab. The data was analyzed through Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in Smart PLS.
The result indicates that organizational structure has positive and significant impact on project success. Further, potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity play significant mediating role between organizational structure and project success. Moreover, knowledge sharing has moldering effect on the relationship between organizational structure and project success. The findings of this research suggest that in public healthcare sector of Punjab should focus on well-established and organized organizational structure to enhance the chances of project success. Additionally, organizations need to adopt the practices of potential absorptive capacity & realized absorptive capacity and promotes the culture of knowledge sharing to attain the objectives, ultimate goals and success in projects in public healthcare sector of Punjab, Pakistan.
This study has several theoretical and practical implications in public sector healthcare Punjab. First, this study may contribute to project management by adding to theoretical implications of variables such as organizational structure, potential absorptive capacity (PAC), realized absorptive capacity (RAC), and knowledge sharing on project success within public sector healthcare of Punjab, Pakistan, offer valuable insights for academia and practitioners alike. Second, the results of this study can be used by project managers, top management in public healthcare sector of Punjab to establish organized organizational structure implementing strategies that link project goals with organizational objectives and foster project success. Third, the results of the study can also be used to create efficient project management plans that assist in controlling project risks, expenses, and quality. Fourth, the results of the study can be applied to develop effective absorptive capacities procedures that support the identification, development, and implementation of creative ideas to improve project results. Fifth, the results of the study can also be used to promote a knowledge sharing culture of cooperation, communication, and teamwork, all of which are critical to the accomplishment of any public sector healthcare project. Overall, this study contributes to the literature in project management by highlighting the significance of organizational structure, potential absorptive capacity, realized absorptive capacity, and knowledge sharing in achieving project success within public sector healthcare of Punjab, Pakistan. |
