| dc.description.abstract | Achievement test is a mechanism to measure student’s knowledge and abilities. Numbers of achievement tests are developed with different compositions and contents. Since other internationally developed achievement tests do not directly consider curriculum adopted during the course of study of students, they do not reflect truly upon the achievements of students. We have proposed an achievement test which is adaptive and is based on assessment of reading, arithmetic and writing capabilities considering curriculum used for imparting education in a particular region. We call it online RAW Achievement battery test and we also developed an application which is used for conducting our experiment and formulation of results. We select 250 test items from primary grade course textbooks and develop test items using psychometrical rules and techniques. Before storing these test items in item bank of Online RAW application, we do item analysis using two approaches i.e. experts’ assistance and item response theory to validate test items and analyze results using two parametric logistics model of item response theory. We then conduct a series of experiments to show how an achievement test linked with a curriculum is reflective, in a better manner, of the student’s achievement index then a general one. After item validation, out of 250 test items 17 are rejected and 233 test items are in accepted range. We then compare two groups’ i.e. high income and low income family group families to accept and reject hypothesis using online RAW application and conclude that “there exist a significant and positive relationship among high income family and low income family. Finally, we compare our results with student’s historical results and WRAT-IV which is a well-known standardized test and conclude that RAW score is providing a better reflection of the students achievement and the performance score so our RAW result is near to historical records of students. | en_US |
