Abstract:
Predictable artificial intelligence behaviour, little ambient interaction, and low replayability plague many survival games, which reduce player immersion and involvement. Many current games also battle to strike a balance between visual quality and performance in vast, openworld settings, particularly on mid-range devices. These difficulties restrict the complexity and scalability of player experiences in the survival genre. This work offers Virsua(The Winter’s Cure), a survival-based open-world game created in Blender and Unreal Engine 5. Enhancing responsiveness and difficulty, the game drives smart NPC and adversary behaviour using Behaviour Trees and Blackboard technologies. Nanite, Lumen, and LOD technologies for performance optimisation were used to combine features like procedural environment generation, stealth mechanisms, and scalable architecture. The game also includes story-driven objectives and environmental narration to increase immersion. Internal tests showed consistent performance, smart artificial intelligence replies, and high player involvement. Comments underlined the game’s graphic excellence, adaptive difficulties, and immersive surroundings. The modular architecture strengthens the efficacy of using powerful AI and UE5 technology in survival game creation and facilitates future extensions. This work offers a scalable, immersive approach for next-generation survival games.
