| dc.description.abstract | The project is intended to study the need of Lean Project Management Framework in a civil engineering consultancy. It is aimed at implementation of lean framework in the firm based on the existing organizational needs of the firm. The objective of the study is to apply lean principles in the work environment of firm to add value, eliminate waste and deliver fast. Lean principles assist in analyzing business processes, focusing on reducing unnecessary costs and improving inefficient procedures. Lean Project Management would help reduce non-value added activities in the organization. The study is significant as the implementation of lean project management would improve enterprise environmental factors, employee efficiency and motivation which would ultimately lead to enhanced organizational productivity. Implementation of lean principles is studied in a consultancy, Ease-Pak. A survey of its employees was carried out and design process of the company was observed during visits to company office. It is concluded that company management intends to reduce non-value added activities. However, process flow and pull is not achieved in design process. Some non-value added activities such as underutilization and overproduction exist in the organization. | en_US |
