dc.description.abstract This project describes the project development of Field Survey. This application will receive the field data through internet and will provide features for visualization, query and analysis. This mobile application will run on android smart phones and tablet with built-in GPS and GPRS facilities. Application will consist of customized forms which will allow the users to fill in the necessary details for survey data collection. Application will be supported with the maps/imagery which will assist the field team for navigation and geo-tagging of crop fields. The application is designed in such a way that the information entered in the form is saved with the surveyors GPS position and time. In areas where there could be issues with GPS accuracy GSM cell based triangulation would be used to improve the accuracy of GPS. The methodology we used to develop this system is waterfall model. Thus the report’s chapter was included system planning, requirement analysis, system design, programming system testing and evaluation of the project. For the system planning the outcomes are the project objectives and project aims as well as to define the project scope. Requirement analysis is a stage to gather en_US
