Abstract:
The implementation of green practices in Pakistani public sector organisations is still uneven and underdeveloped, despite the growing emphasis on environmental sustainability around the world and the government's dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a major municipal body in charge of environmental management and urban development in Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has implemented corporate sustainability policies and green training programs, but the effect of these measures on real sustainability performance has not been thoroughly assessed. The ways in which organisational support, training, and regulatory frameworks affect CDA's capacity to meet its environmental sustainability goals are not well understood. It is unclear whether the expenditures made on green training and policy changes are successfully resulting in quantifiable gains in sustainability performance in the absence of empirical analysis.
