Abstract:
Within the Pakistani hotel industry, fostering environmentally conscious employee behavior is crucial for achieving broader sustainability goals. This research examines the multifaceted impact of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices on such behavior, using the advanced analytical capabilities of Smart PLS 4. We delve beyond direct effects by exploring the mediating roles of environmental knowledge and self-efficacy. GHRM practices, like green recruitment and selection, directly influence on employee green behaviors such as energy conservation and waste minimization. Additionally, Smart PLS 4 helps us assess how GHRM enhances environmental knowledge self-efficacy, the belief in one's ability to act proenvironmentally. After data analysis and running mediation analysis we conclude that both mediator show partial mediation on employee green behavior. Ultimately, we aim to identify the most impactful GHRM practices, understand the roles of knowledge and self-efficacy, and provide actionable recommendations for hotel managers to leverage GHRM for fostering a culture of environmental responsibility through empowered employees. This research contributes to theoretical advancements in understanding GHRM's influence in specific industry contexts, while offering practical implications for improved environmental performance in the Pakistani hotel industry and beyond.
