dc.description.abstract VolunNet is designed to address the problem of connecting Volunteers with organizations for suitable Volunteering Opportunities. Individuals that want to do the volunteering work but do not know how to find the work. They can come on the VolunNet and find suitable opportunities to work in, Similarly organizations that want suitable volunteers for their cause but do not know the right platform to find volunteers since searching for volunteers through advertisements and other means is pretty expensive. So, they can simply come on VolunNet app to find suitable volunteers that align with their interests. A research-based reputation calculation system and recommendation system was also used by using Bayesian statistical method that will make it easier to evaluate volunteers and distinguish exceptional volunteers from normal volunteers by recommending exceptional volunteers to organization for their cause/drive. This reputation system was based on a research theses since already existing reputation systems are not good enough to evaluate volunteers. VolunNet also contain features like user registration and authentication, opportunity search with advanced filtering, organization opportunity management, volunteer application workflow, profile management for both volunteers and or- ganizations, a sophisticated rating and feedback system. a key innovation was using Bayesian algorithm to prevent inflation and deflation of volunteer’s rating and affecting the accuracy of the whole system. en_US
