dc.description.abstract | This study explores the development and implementation of a comprehensive training program aimed at mitigating security risks faced by Foodpanda delivery riders in Pakistan. Riders often encounter threats such as theft, harassment, and physical harm, exacerbated by inadequate training, infrastructure challenges, and high-crime areas. The proposed intervention focuses on equipping riders with skills in self-defense, situational awareness, and emergency response to enhance their safety and well-being. Through needs analysis, the training identifies specific challenges and provides tailored solutions, including stress management techniques and the use of technology for safety enhancement. By fostering a culture of safety and awareness, the initiative not only improves riders' physical and mental health but also enhances operational efficiency, customer trust, and organizational reputation. Beyond Foodpanda, the intervention serves as a model for addressing security concerns in the gig economy, promoting sustainable practices and worker safety. The study highlights the broader societal impact, advocating for worker protection and inspiring similar efforts across industries. While acknowledging limitations such as resource constraints and regional variations, this program sets a precedent for safer and more equitable working conditions in the gig economy. | en_US |
