dc.description.abstract | This research aims to investigate the relationship between sustainable logistics practices and economic performance in the textile sector of Pakistan. While previous studies have shown a positive association between sustainable logistics practices and economic performance in various industries, limited research has been conducted within the specific context of the Pakistani textile sector. Therefore, this study fills the research gap by exploring the impact of sustainable transportation, reverse logistics, waste management, sustainable packaging and distribution, green monitoring and evaluation, and sustainable information sharing on economic performance in the Pakistani textile industry. The study utilizes a quantitative research approach and explanatory research purpose to understand the factors that enable economic performance in the textile sector. A survey-based questionnaire is employed to collect data from 300 employees working in the supply chain department of textile companies in Pakistan. The data is analyzed using SPSS 21 software to determine the relationship between sustainable logistics practices and economic performance. The research is grounded in several key theories, including the Resource-Based View, Triple Bottom Line theory, Institutional theory, Stakeholder theory, and Green Supply Chain Management theory. These theoretical perspectives provide a solid foundation for examining the complex dynamics within the Pakistani textile sector and understanding the impact of sustainable logistics practices on economic performance. The findings of this study will contribute practical insights for policymakers, managers, and stakeholders in developing strategies and initiatives that enhance economic performance while minimizing the environmental impact of the textile industry. By integrating sustainable logistics practices, textile companies can improve their competitive advantage, strengthen market position, and contribute to the overall sustainability and growth of the Pakistani economy. This research not only addresses the existing research gap huf also takes into account the post-pandemic scenario, where sustainable logistics practices have become even more crucial in ensuring the resilience and sustainability of the textile industry. | en_US |
