Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of Transformational leadership on employee
performance. This relationship was being studied under the role of a moderator which was work from
home and a mediator which was Motivation.
Methodology & Design
Respondents of the study were employees who belong to the selected sectors from the service sector of
Pakistan. The survey approach was used to generate primary data from 384 respondents out of which
206 gave back the responses. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is utilized for the analysis.
Findings
The results indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between transformational
leadership and employee performance. The study stated that work from home does not act as a
moderating variable between transformational leadership and employee performance. It has also
indicated that motivation does not act as a mediator between transformational leadership and employee
performance.
Limitations
The limitation of this study is that the topic is new, and the public is unaware of it. Secondly the service
sector is not ready to implement an online medium and because of the implementation of this study
model is lessor in Pakistan as compared with other countries.
Recommendations
It is highly recommended that organizations implement transformational leadership within the work
setting as service sector because the managers are neglecting the needs of the employees. It is also
recommended, that further research should be done in this field because it holds a lot of potential and it
would act as a realistic approach to resolve manager and employee related issues and concerns.
