dc.description.abstract This Study explores the effect of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices on the Environmental Performance with mediating roles of Environmental Awareness and Engagement in Sustainability Programs in the education sector of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The research is carried in a positivist philosophy, deductive method and quantitative research design using a structural questionnaire administered to the faculty members and the administrative staff of the top five universities in the region. Morgan and Krejcie's table was used to determine the sample size of 384 respondents and data was analyzed using SPSS. The results show that GHRM practices (green hiring and green training) have positive, significant impacts on environmental performance. Additionally, partial mediators for environmental awareness and participation in sustainability programs amplify the effect of GHRM practices on environmental performance. By increasing awareness and commitment, environmental awareness helps bridge the gap between GHRM practices and pro environmental behaviors, engagement in sustainability programs translates awareness into action; leading to improved environmental performance. The originality of this study fills the gap in how Environmental Awareness and Engagement in Sustainability Programs mediate the relationship of green human resource management and environmental performance. en_US
