ABSTRACT
The current study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of a behavioral intervention
program in improving teenagers' self-esteem. It aimed to provide knowledge, skills, values and
attitude that empowered adolescents to realize their well-being and dignity. It also helped them
in maintaining good social interaction, stress management, academic performance and positive
self-concept. The research design was 2/3 between within experimental study design. After
screening s sample of (N=60) adolescents girls and boys of age range 10-16 years were selected
from 8th, 9th and 10th grade from Private School of Lahore through convenient sampling. The
sample were randomly allocated into experimental and control group. Pre and posttest
assessment was administered from both groups on Hare Self-Esteem scale and then follow up
session was conducted after 2 weeks. Experimental group received psychological intervention
while control group also ethically received the intervention but after the follow-up session. The
session plan developed from Addressing Self-Esteem: A Counseling Group Manual for Upper
Elementary Students which comprised of 08 sessions and duration of each session was 30-
35mins. Intervention sessions was delivered on alternative days. Descriptive statistics will be run
to assess such as Means, Standard Deviation, Percentages and Frequencies. Repeated Measures
MANOVA was used to assess the interaction and main affect between and within groups. The
findings showed significant improvement on Hare Self-Esteem Scale of experimental group.
