dc.description.abstract The basic objective of Solar powered car prototype is to test a safe and reliable self-driven vehicle which is fully powered, autonomous to some extent, packed and precisely designed to accommodate self-needs of the cars being driven by alternatives, also to improve the concept of “driving safe”. Basic aim of the project is to provide the prototype closer to the powered vehicle which should be efficient enough to be driven on batteries completely and to keep the drive safe. It’s a vital step towards an ongoing evolution in the automotive and automation industry. Our research work and testing will support the electrical automotive efficient working. Solar cars depend on PV cells to convert sunlight into electricity. In fact, 51% of sunlight actually enters the Earth's atmosphere. Unlike solar thermal energy which converts solar energy to heat for either household purposes, industrial purposes or to be converted to electricity, PV cells directly convert sunlight into electricity. When sunlight (photons) strikes PV cells, they excite electrons and allow them to flow, creating an electrical current. PV cells are made of semiconductor materials such as silicon and alloys of indium, gallium and nitrogen. Silicon is the most common material used and has an efficiency rate of 15-20%. The concept of solar powered vehicle is not new but the concept of solar powered SMART vehicle is not common, the autonomous car has all the modules which are power dependent. Vehicles having mechanical engines require fuel and many other maintenance domains which are quite offensive in the present world. Electric vehicles work on the principle of power stored in the batteries and power is consumed by the motor driving it, the amplitude of losses in these vehicles is high because of single power source which is charge due to the batteries. SMART vehicle is the beginning of efficient and reliable vehicles of the future, these kinds of vehicles are designed to monitor and distribute power to entire system in a better way en_US
