Abstract:
VIMS is basically a complete vehicle tracking solution which provides all the feature
which a user need for the safety and security of vehicle. It enables user to monitor and
control the car. User can easily jam, locate, monitor(where the car exactly is )system.
Real time Vehicle Identification and Monitoring is achieved by using the
Microcontroller(PIC16F877) which is serially interfaced with GPS module and GSM
module. Microcontroller gives them instructions and attains required data from the GPS
to the GSM module. GSM provides the position to transfer to the base station via Short
Messaging Service (SMS) using the GSM network. Secondly, the receiving end which
is basically our central server where another GSM module is present where it interfaced
to the user phone.. Where ever the car can also be jammed any time by using simple text
sms.
The vehicle responds to the commands and the desired operations are achieved tested
and verified.
VIMS enable the owner to track the vehicle's location as well as monitoring and
controlling of the vehicles e.g. jamming,, exact location of car and ultimate peace of
security, it is also helpful for the logistic companies, rent-a-car companies, school vans
and university points.
