dc.description.abstract | his study was performed to present the subsurface geology of Layyah field by the structural interpretation of seismic data, and to estimate the hydrocarbon potential in the reservoir zones using petrophysical analysis, the marked horizons are identified using formation tops from Kamiab-01 well's data. The seismic data interpretation of the area reveals that the reflectors are at shallower depths in the eastern direction, at deeper depths in the western direction, and the trend shows the presence of monoclinal structure. There are no major faults observed in the study area and hence, the identified petroleum system contains stratigraphic trap. The petrophysical analysis was done to identify the hydrocarbon potential of reservoir rocks and two zones of interest in Ranikot Formation and Lumshiwal Formation respectively were identified. The results show that both formations contain porous and moderately shaly sandstones, yet the zones of interest are water wet with an average of 60% to 80% water saturation, and hence, the hydrocarbon potential of the well through these two identified zones of interest is low. | en_US |
