Abstract:
The objective of the study was to develop an understanding of the sub-surface structure. Data used for this purpose are seismic sections and log data of Bahawalpur East-01 well. This area is situated in the Punjab platform of the Sulaiman sub-basin. Tectonically it is a broad monocline dipping gently towards the Sulaiman Depression. Reflectors were marked on the seismic section on the basis of depth and velocity information of these formations. Seismic data interpretation eventually resulted in outcomes as time and depth contour maps. Petrophysical analysis helped to form volume of shale, porosity and saturation curves. All three formations are water wet and economical saturation of hydrocarbons is not present.
