dc.description.abstract The object of seismic reflection prospecting is to delineate subsurface geological structures using the ability of some horizons within the earth to reflect sound waves. The basic principle of seismic method is the generation, detection of seismic waves. The sound waves rush down and down until they meet an interface layer have acoustic impedance contrast. A replica at the downward traveling sound wave reflects back towards the surface from the boundary between the two layers. en_US
