Abstract:
A Geographical Information System (GIS) of N.W.F.P. has been developed, using ArcView GIS. The project deals with the infrastructure of N.W.F.P, which includes major landmarks, railways, roads etc. the project also deals with geological mapping of the area specifically different lithological units, geological structures, and orientation. It involves the geocoding of geological map of N.W.F.P. The map is first scanned by high-tech scanners and then digitized using ArcView GIS software. The developed GIS helps in analyzing the geology of area, to see the general orientation of the area, to delineate and locate different major geological structures in the area along with other infrastructure layers.
